About the Barcamp

This event is for developers, project managers and Python enthusiasts in the fields of education in schools and universities, business, including freelancers and employees, as well as home and hobby users.

Organizational details

Admission is free for all EuroPython attendees, food and drinks are provided.

You can still register for the barcamp event, or can even participate if you haven't registered. We had asked for early registration to estimate the number of participants, however, we certainly can accept many more participants.

We will allow additional participants for the barcamp without a ticket, as long as a conference participant invites that participant. The two of you have to show up together at the morning of the sprint at the cash desk and will be issued an additional badge.

This barcamp is organized by the EuroPython organizers backed by Python Software Verband e.V. All organizational work is on a voluntary basis.

What is a Barcamp

A Barcamp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp) is much more relaxed kind of conference often called unconference. It serves the same purpose as a conference: having people exchange ideas about one topic, here Python. But the format is very different. There is no talk schedule. All content is added by the participants directly during the event. There will be presentations and discussions about a variety of Python-related topics. To our experience, this works out really well and attendees like it a lot. They often say that they can learn and exchange ideas in a different way compared to a traditional conference.
